Position Objective
The Lead Pricing Actuary is a credentialed Actuary responsible for development and significant revisions to ratemaking methodologies. Develops and implements statistical models and conducts other advanced Actuarial analysis. Leads ratemaking research efforts and provides peer review of analysis and completed work products.

Primary Accountabilities
- Research & Development (45%)
- Provide expert actuarial opinion on new and/or changes to policy language and impact to rating.
- Leads development of pricing for new products via statistical techniques, internal or external experience, and competitive research.
- Develops new rating plan structures.
- Conducts research and analysis of new statistical models that support pricing, marketing, and underwriting.
- Explores new concepts and data sources to deliver innovation for the business.
- Tests and validates statistical models.

- Ratemaking (40%)
- Provides recommendations and significant revisions to ratemaking methodologies.
- Provides expertise for all aspects of indication development.
- Peer review of completed work products.
- Responsible for developing classification ratemaking methodologies and models.
- Responsible for rate of return analysis.
- Provides additional analysis to support complex business partner requests.
- Utilization of catastrophe models to develop recommendations for ratemaking and exposure concentration analysis.
- Investigates and researches potential rating plan enhancements through the use of predictive modeling tools.

- Other Duties (15%)
- Responsible for peer review of work products.
- Provide constructive guidance and coaching to help develop the technical capabilities of Actuarial staff.

Education/Licenses/Designations
- At least, the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS); must be pursuing the Fellowship (FCAS) to be completed within 36 months.
- Bachelors Degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics or other related quantitative discipline.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience communicating complex data to multiple business partners.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts and the impact to rates.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends.
- Extensive knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques.

Travel Requirements
- This position requires travel up to 5% of the time
