The Application Development Senior Engineer is responsible for software design and development for moderate to complex business solutions. Analyzes system problems and recommends alternatives for resolution. The senior engineer may take on a lead role in the development of applications or parts of an application. Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced technologists. They may work under guidance of senior technologists on larger or complex projects. They may work in a mainframe, client/server, business intelligence, and/or web environment.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or a related field and 1 year of IT experience in application development and systems design. As part of the 1 year of IT experience in application development and system design, the individual must have 1 year of experience with JAVA utilizing Web Services technologies. In addition, as part of the 1 year of IT experience in application development and system design, the individual must have 1 year of experience in system design utilizing UML, 1 year of experience in User Interface design utilizing Use Cases, and 1 year of experience in database design using DB2 and MySQL. Also, as part of the 1 year of IT experience in application development and system design, the individual must have 1 year of project management experience utilizing the Waterfall methodology.
